Clifton G Robinson
Clifton Robinson, LLB (Hons), DMS, CIH (Affiliated Member) has experience of policy development, management and training in the social housing, equality/diversity and criminal justice sectors. His experience has been gained in working for three housing associations over a period of 20 years, as a consultant working with six Welsh local authorities to deliver their BME Housing Strategies, as an equalities trainer and as the Chair of the North Wales Area Probation Board from April 2004.
He has been working as a housing and management consultant and trainer since forming Cymru Equality and Diversity Consortium (CEDC) with Simon Inkson in July 2003. Clifton was re-appointed as Chair of North Wales Probation (April 2007), was appointed Wales representative on the Probation Boards Association for England and Wales (April 2007) and was also appointed to the Statutory Wales Committee of the new Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) (October 2007). This last position gives him an excellent overview of policy developments across the various equality strands. Clifton has also been an active board member of Mind Cymru and North Wales Race Equality Network for several years.
From September 2008, Clifton started work as a hospital reviewer/inspector with Health Inspectorate Wales and is currently part of a review team assessing 22 independent hospitals across Wales. Also in September 2008, he was appointed as a member of the mental health charity MIND as a quality reviewer of Local Mind Associations across England.
From December 2008, Clifton was appointed on to the Board of Cartrefi Conwy - the first housing stock transfer organisation in North Wales- as one of its five Independent Board Members
